September 23 - 27, 2007 we will be taking a trip to Bishop and embarking on an outdoor adventure which will include camping, hiking, rock climbing, and a two night, three day backpacking trip with vehicle supported cached camps.

The trip is guided by mountain guide Todd Vogel, of Outdoor Link, LLC, two female co-leaders, and Michael Graber, Journey School parent and recovering mountain guide. Todd has hosted more than three hundred school programs over the years and has been working with school groups in the outdoor setting since the mid 1980's.

Goals: an outdoor education/have fun/teambuilder/ first backpack with a little rock climbing and community service work.

Objectives: Students will learn the basics of rock climbing, campcraft and outdoor and backpacking skills. They will put these skills to use on a two night/three day backpack. (Caches and vehicle support will be used, to make it a trip that is easy for students this age). Students will also be able to make conceptual links between public lands, recreation on public lands, and stewardship of these lands through our service project.
